This week students prepared for Thanksgiving break by reading about the Harvest Feast of 1621.  We talked about the types of food they would have eaten and which foods are similar to the foods we may still eat at Thanksgiving today.  We learned about Squanto and the Wampanoag tribe, and how they helped the Pilgrims make a life here in America.  Here students are writing about who they will see this Thanksgiving and why those people are special.
