Fall Book Fair

The Scholastic Book Fair recently held at KHS was deemed a great success by book fair chair, Connie Dowis.  The book fair provided exciting books for children to purchase, read and enjoy.  Because the LMC choose to keep the profit in books, just under 75 paperback books worth just over $730 were added to the elementary and high school libraries. These books will be prepared to go on the library shelves for all to enjoy.

A few parents visited the book fair during parent/teacher conferences but most grandchildren convinced their grandparents to buy books and other “stuff” they couldn’t live without at the fair.  On Grandparents Day, the fair was open at 7:00 until almost 10:00 when the last visitor went home.  When Grandparents Day occurs at the same time as the book fair, grandchildren and the school benefit from providing the opportunity to add to home libraries. One grandparent remarked, “I just can’t say no to buying books because it’s hard to go wrong when you buy your grandchild a book.”  Plans are already under way for the Spring book fair with Scholastic to be held in March.  Thank you to all who helped make the fair a success.
